Area History
Beautiful Los Cabos (The Capes) rests at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. Broken down into the three areas of Cabo San Lucas, San Jose and the Corridor, this popular destination has something for everyone.
This once quaint fishing village was used as a frequent stop for pirates awaiting passage to the Manila Galleons. By the 1930's the town's population was only 400, however it was successful as a fishing village and it ran its own cannery.

It became a destination for Sportfishers due to the abundance of Marlin. The population began to grow enough that it was included in the route of the Carretera Transpeninsular, which paved its way into the area in 1973. Los Cabos became even more accessible with the construction of the International Airport in San Jose del Cabo.
The population of Los Cabos today is near 60,000 although seasonal visits get this number up to around the 120,000 mark.
Los Cabos is a premiere destination, with its magnificent beaches and azure colored water. You are sure to be mesmerized.
